Our Project

Our team was tasked to improve the user experience and interaction design of Facebook's privacy and ad settings.The goal of the project was to design a user experience that would help consumers better understand and correct misperceptions about behavioral targeting, incentivize them to actively participate in the management of their own advertising profiles, and deliver a more positive advertising viewing experience.

Our Mission

With the project presented, we made it our to mission help consumers better understand what personal information Facebook has access to and how ad preference settings work through increasing consumer engagement with Facebook ad preference settings. This will, in turn, correct any of their misconceptions surrounding Facebook’s targeted advertising.

Our Goals

Our goals outline our strategy to meet our mission: increase engagement with ad preference settings.

  • Goal #1: Understand the worries, concerns, and awareness level of users regarding ad preferences. 

  • Goal #2: Develop a plan for an accessible and intuitive user interface for ad preferences.

  • Goal #3: Develop a way that will encourage users to interact with their ad preference settings.
